What to Bring to the Gym

What to Bring to the Gym

Posted by YPLYOGA on

Staying active is hard enough without unexpected obstacles getting in the way. Something as simple as forgetting your hair tie or forgetting your favorite pullover can completely derail your workout plan.

There's nothing more satisfying than taking everything you need to complete your workout to the gym. You probably already know the basics, such as reusable water bottles, wireless headphones, sneakers, cleaning wipes, and gym clothes. If you plan to shower in the locker room after your workout, hygiene essentials such as shampoo, shower shoes, microfiber towels, deodorant and clean clothes are always needed.

Of course, there's no rule that says you can't be practical and stylish at the same time. Working out is always more rewarding when you feel confident in your workout gear. Before you hit the gym for your next workout, put the following workout essentials in your gym bag:

1. Game Changer Tote

When you go to the gym, you probably have a lot on your mind, such as what equipment you're going to use, how much time you'll need to complete a full workout, and how close you are to your fitness goals.

The last thing you want to worry about when heading to the gym is how to carry all your gear. There are many options for handbags, but the perfect gym bag has some key features. Most importantly, it should be made of quality materials and be able to hold everything you need for your workout.

2. Headband

We all love those gorgeous layered hairstyles, but face-framing layers and cardio don't go well together. There's nothing more annoying than constantly stopping your workout to readjust your ponytail because your hair won't stop falling in your face. The right headband will keep your hair in place so you can stay focused.

Of course, not all headbands are created equal. Some headbands tend to slip off when the skin becomes smooth, while others do not absorb sweat sufficiently. Some are simply uncomfortable to wear due to poor material quality or lack of elasticity.

When looking for a headband that meets all of your requirements, the YPL line of headbands is the way to go. These soft and flexible headbands are the perfect lightweight fitness accessory. Wear it on evening walks, during your workout or even in the steam shower.

3. Light Pullover or Jacket

Have you noticed some people wearing pullovers or jackets during or immediately after a workout? It's not always because they're cold. In fact, wearing a lightweight pullover or jacket can have a direct impact on your health and the overall effectiveness of your workout.

Wearing a jacket can help you sweat more when you workout. The extra fabric acts as insulation, causing your heart rate to increase and your blood to circulate faster, which cools your body down. With a faster heart rate, blood is pumped faster to the muscles that need to be replenished.

When you stop working out, your muscles stay hot for a while and your core temperature stays above normal for a while. Adding a lightweight pullover or jacket helps keep your body hotter for longer, which means you can continue to sweat and nourish your muscles.

4. An Extra Top

Comfort is absolutely important in the gym. If you're uncomfortable and unsure of what you're wearing, you won't be able to focus and make the most of your workout. There are plenty of cute, stylish workout tops and sports bras on the market, but it can be really frustrating to stop and readjust your outfit every few minutes or not have enough support. That's why you should keep a reliable top in your gym bag in case that new impulse buy doesn't fit as well as the Instagram ads.
